Francis Darcy Mead Barker (also known as Frank) was born April/May/June 1880 in Liverpool, Lancashire to \bioref{Thomas_Henry_Barker} and \bioref{Mary_Ellen_Moulsdale}.\cite{FBarkerBirth} He had six siblings: \bioref{James_Denton_Barker}, \bioref{Charles_Frederick_Strangeways_Barker}, Reverend \bioref{Thomas_Percy_Conyers_Barker}, \bioref{William_Danby_Holt_Barker}, \bioref{Jonathan_Tong_Barker} and \bioref{Henry_Bertram_Mitford_Barker}.

He married \bioref{Isabel_Whitehead} on 19 May 1910 in the Wirral, Cheshire \cite{FBarkerMarriage} and they had one son, \bioref{John_Darcy_Barker}. He served in the Merchant Navy during World War One, but there is no record of his actual position; he was granted Campaign Medals for his service. \cite{FDMBarkerMedals} He was a Ship's Purser on a steam ship (the name of which is not legible in the census record). \cite{FBarkerOccupation}

He died on 8 January 1937 in Neston, Cheshire \cite{FBarkerDeath} and the Probate notice read: ``Barker Francis Darcy Mead of Mendi Parkgate Cheshire died 8 January 1937 at Neston Cheshire. Administration Liverpool 5 February to Isabel Barker widow effects \pounds 731.12s.''
